Vault over the Great Firewall?

James Fallows suggests purchasing WiTopia VPN to "tunnel beneath the Great Firewall," as he puts it. I've yet to try it. (He also notes in the post that blogs hosted by Blogspot or Blogger are often blocked. Perhaps my days are numbered (numbered 四, that is).
